Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Nairi Coffee Company, LLC (“Nairi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and store to bring you coffee matched to your taste. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights you have. Our store is powered by Shopify, which hosts the Services and processes information to help us provide them.
By using our website, products, and services (the “Services”), you acknowledge that you’ve read this Privacy Policy. If our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy ever conflict on how we handle your personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.
The short version
We collect the information we need to match you to great coffee, fulfill your orders, run your subscription, and support you. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We keep your data first-party — we use it to serve you, not to trade it to ad networks.
Personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
• Contact details — your name, email, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses.
• Payment information — payment card and transaction details. (Your full card number is handled by our payment processor; we don’t store it.)
• Account information — your login details and your account preferences and settings.
• Referral information — if you tell us someone recommended us, the name you enter so we can thank them. We use it only to credit that person’s referral; we don’t build a profile from it, and we don’t share it beyond confirming the credit.
• Your taste profile and coffee preferences — your flavor-quiz responses, the taste profile we build from them, the ratings you give the coffees you try, and brewing and consumption details you share (like how you brew, how much you drink, and household size). You choose to share this so we can match you and pace your coffee.
• Order and transaction information — what you view, add to your cart, buy, subscribe to, switch, skip, or cancel, and your order history.
• Communications — what you include when you contact support or leave a review.
• Device and usage information — your device, browser, IP address, and how you navigate and use the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you (when you take the quiz, create an account, order, or contact us); automatically (from your device and through cookies when you use the site); and from service providers who help us operate the Services (for example, our payment processor and platform).
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
• Match and recommend coffee — using your quiz responses, taste profile, and ratings to match you, suggest coffees you’re likely to enjoy, and improve our matching over time.
• Provide the Services and fulfill orders — process payments, prepare and ship your coffee, run your subscription, and manage switches, returns, and your account.
• Pace your deliveries — use your consumption details to size and time your shipments so you don’t run out or overstock.
• Communicate with you — send order and account notices, respond to support, and (with appropriate consent where required) send marketing emails you can opt out of anytime.
• Keep things secure — authenticate accounts and detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• Meet legal obligations — comply with applicable law and enforce our terms and policies.
Your taste profile
Your taste profile — built from what you tell us in the quiz and how you rate coffees — is information you choose to share, and it exists to serve you: to match you and pace your coffee. You can update your preferences anytime in your account, or ask us to delete your taste profile using the contact details below.
How we disclose your information
We share personal information only in these limited ways:
• With service providers who process it on our behalf to run Nairi — including Shopify (our commerce platform and host), our payment processor, our email and marketing platform, our reviews and customer-support tools, and our roasting-and-fulfillment partner (to prepare and ship your order). They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• For legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law or valid legal process, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Nairi, our customers, or others.
• In a business transaction — if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this Privacy Policy.
What we don’t do: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising across other companies’ sites. We’ve deliberately chosen to keep your data first-party.
Our platform (Shopify)
Our store runs on Shopify, which hosts the Services and processes personal information to provide and secure them, and for Shopify’s own purposes as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy (privacy.shopify.com). Consistent with our first-party approach, we have chosen not to use Shopify’s cross-merchant personalized-advertising features.
Where your information is processed
Because our platform and some of our service providers operate internationally, your personal information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live, including where those providers are located.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and support our own marketing. Where required, we present a cookie-consent banner so you can accept or manage non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices anytime through that banner or your browser settings. We honor Global Privacy Control signals; we don’t respond to other “Do Not Track” signals.
Children’s privacy
Our Services are for adults — you must be 18 or older to purchase, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — please avoid sending sensitive information over unsecured channels. We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide the Services, run your account and subscription, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights over your personal information. They aren’t absolute and may apply only in certain circumstances, and in some cases we may decline a request as the law permits:
• Access / know the personal information we hold about you.
• Delete personal information we hold about you (including your taste profile).
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Portability — receive a copy of your information.
• Opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising — because we don’t sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there’s nothing here to opt out of; we honor Global Privacy Control signals as a matter of course.
• Manage marketing — opt out of marketing emails anytime using the unsubscribe link; we may still send you service messages about your account and orders.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity first, and you may use an authorized agent (with proof of authorization) where the law allows. We’ll respond within the time the law requires.
Your local rights
Privacy rights vary by state and U.S. territory. Nothing in this policy takes away any mandatory, non-waivable rights you have under the laws of the state, U.S. territory (including Puerto Rico), or other U.S. jurisdiction where you live.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first — we’ll work to resolve it. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to appeal our decision or to lodge a complaint with your state or local consumer-protection or data-protection authority.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We’ll post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date and provide notice where the law requires.
