Where this cup comes from
Huehuetenango is one of Guatemala’s highest and most remote coffee regions — dry mountain air and elevations near 2,000 meters that let the cherries ripen slowly into something vivid. Four hundred family farms grow it here on small plots intercropped with corn and beans, delivering their harvest to a shared mill; the same organization runs a program that gives farming families healthy places for their children to learn and play through the harvest. The cup is lively and balanced — lemon-lime brightness over nougat and brown sugar.
