Where this cup comes from
Papua New Guinea is one of coffee’s last frontiers — farms are tiny and remote, worked by families with little more than their hands and the sun. In the Waghi Valley of Jiwaka Province, growers hand-pick and dry their cherries whole in the natural style, and new local mills and roads have finally begun carrying their harvest to the wider world. The reward in the cup is extraordinary: blueberry and plum, spiced apple cider, rose, and nutmeg.
